What makes me different?

I believe in people’s ability to achieve. Anyone can become who and what they dream to be. And I enjoy helping people get where it is they’re going.

As far as my workouts, I keep it simple, fun and exciting so you and I don’t get bored. My workouts are designed to continually challenge your fitness ability and to guide you to becoming the best and healthiest version of yourself.

I grew up in the rolling hills of County Donegal Ireland. At the age of 14, I started working in the local hotel washing dishes. Soon after, I enrolled in culinary school with the thought of becoming a chef.

In 1995, I made a bold move to the USA. I landed in Boston working as a chef at the well-known Ritz Carlton Hotel. It was a good job. Although the position required a lot of hard work, it taught me one of my life’s most valuable lessons, the importance of customer service.

Being from Ireland, I never lost my passion for Gaelic football. I consider myself a true athlete and have played soccer for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, during my first summers of soccer in Boston, I tore my ACL during a tournament.

It was one of those bad injuries; the type that changes your life forever. After surgery, I had a very long road of recovery and rehabilitation. Little did I know, this rehabilitation would be the catalyst for my newly discovered passion for fitness – my love for training.

I attended UMASS Boston taking classes in anatomy and physiology. I studied for my personal trainer certification and passed in 1999. In 2001, I got my first fitness position as a personal trainer at one of the top health clubs in the country. Always enthused, professional and committed, I rose quickly to the top of my profession.

After 18 years of dedication, I’ve decided to follow my own dream. Today, with my wife and seven-year-old triplets, I’m venturing out my own. I’m eager to announce a new and exciting fitness program.

I grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts and moved to Hanover during my middle school years. My passion for fitness and athletics began at the early age of five when I started participating in competitive Irish Step Dancing. I have earned numerous awards at regional, national and world championship level competitions. In 2012, I was ranked as one of the top 20 Irish dancers in my age group in the world; earning an individual world medal. I have danced in London, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. In addition to my dance background, I had participated in gymnastics since the age of four. In high school, I was a member of the varsity gymnastics team.

Later in high school, I earned the title of 3-season athlete, participating in cross-country, gymnastics and track and field team. However, it wasn’t until college that I realized my true passion for running. I was also a 3-season athlete throughout college for cross-country, indoor and outdoor track and field teams.  My favorite events were the middle-distance events – 800M, 1000M, and the mile. I was captain of my cross-country team and voted Team Peer Mentor. I was a three-time MASCAC champion and set the school record in the individual 1000 meter run and both the indoor and outdoor 4 x 800 meter relays. Since graduating in May 2018, I continue to run in local races – 5K, 10 milers, and half marathons. I am currently training for my first marathon.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Exercise Science and minor in Nutrition from Bridgewater State University. While attending Bridgewater State University, I acquired extensive information regarding sports performance, conditioning, training and nutrition. I believe in the importance of commitment, dedication, and accountability; these three virtues will lead to success.

I look forward to helping others achieve good health and fitness habits in their everyday life.
